Hi, I’m Kaitlyn 👋
I write about real life through the lens of astrology. My goal is to help as many people as possible learn to love themselves for who they are—dark parts and all. I believe the parts we were taught to hide are where our true gifts lie.
My focus is to inspire you to feel confident enough to shine without the fear, regardless of the expectations of others.
There are times I wonder if I’m on the right path; if what I’m doing is of service to others in the best way possible. The more I speak about my work and put myself out there, the louder the voice gets.
Most of the time, I feel good about my work and how I show up in the world; I know myself so deeply that it’s hard to shake me. From surviving alcoholism, to quitting my corporate job and leaving my home country, to toxic relationships that left only an empty shell of who I used to be. Over the past four years of sobriety, I’ve been learning about myself in ways I could have never expected.
Entrepreneurship brings up all of your fears and insecurities, and if you don’t look at them, your business will never survive. We can’t climb the mountain faster than our nervous system can handle—slow and steady is sustainable.
It’s imperative we look at our shit as it surfaces, lightening the load as we continue to climb and reconnecting with why we’re even climbing in the first place.
Capricorn is all about success, integrity, and mastery.
At this full moon in Capricorn we are asking ourselves how we’ve been doing on our path to our self determined version of success. Capricorn is ruled by Saturn, who is the timekeeper—when we have a Saturn ruled lunation it is easy to get caught up in the pressure of not being enough, or not being where you “should” be by now. There’s a sense of running out of time and taking on responsibilities that may not be yours to carry.
This full moon is challenging our values and relationships, as it opposes Venus in Cancer as the moon simultaneously illuminates the mountain we’re climbing. We’re being asked to feel into our values.
Is your goal in alignment with what you truly value? Or are you just climbing to get to the top?
Sometimes we can get distracted by the noise and expectations of those outside of ourselves, but at this time, it’s important to go within and ask yourself if you’re living with true integrity.
What do you want your loved ones to say about you when you’re gone? Your legacy isn’t only in your work and your career, it’s in how you leave others feeling in your presence. Some may argue your legacy has nothing to do with your career at all.
Do you fully believe in the people you’re supporting?
Are the people around you helping you grow or are they keeping you stuck?
Are you spending your hard earned dollars in places that align with what you believe in?
The full moon is challenged by Neptune. Your path may feel unclear, but it’s an invitation to meditate on the answer and take it slow. You don’t have to have all of the answers right now, and as we move into the second full moon in Capricorn in July, there may be more clarity by then.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of negativity, especially when it comes to ourselves. We’re often much harder on ourselves than others. The goal is to lean into self-compassion. This full moon (and the next) is a gentle reminder that all good things are worth staying for, and if you truly value it you will make it work, even through the discomfort. If it’s not the right path, it’s okay to walk away and forge a new one—it’s never too late.
I had a reading with a client of mine with Capricorn rising last week. They’re going through a huge transition, and are feeling the pressure of all of the responsibilities coming their way. I reminded them they’re probably doing better than they think, and to practice speaking to themself as if they’re speaking to a friend—with love, compassion, and understanding.
I’d like to offer this lens to you, too.
Think back to the beginning of the year at the new moon in Capricorn. What seed was planted in your garden of goals? What fears or doubts did you have? And where are you now?
What are you proud of accomplishing since January?
Full moons are a culmination point—a time of harvest. It’s time to celebrate how far you’ve come with the momentum you’ve been building the first half of the year. It’s the halfway point of the cycle, and a great time to reassess where we have been, and where we’re headed.
I wrote this post on the new moon while I was sitting in Langkawi, Malaysia. Reflecting back, I’m proud of how my writing has improved since then. I noticed a lot of similar feelings coming up in the realm of self doubt and not-enoughness, in different forms.
I’m also proud of myself for staying true to my integrity and walking away from a relationship that was on the rocks around that time. I stayed true to myself and am working through the after effects of the breakup while re-aligning with my values.
This was a time of upleveling in my relationships; getting clear on the standards I hold when I let another person into my world. I’ve since been learning to hold my inner child in a way she wasn’t protected as a child, while practicing vulnerability and receiving.
Over to you
What are you proud of accomplishing over the past six months?
Think back to January—what seed were you planting? How has it grown since then?
We will have a second opportunity to sit with this question at the end of July. The area of your life represented by Capricorn in your chart is highlighted over the next month. It’s time to sit with the mountain you’re climbing—are you still on track or have you veered off path?
Check where 1° Capricorn is in your chart for a little peek into what’s being illuminated for you.
Seventh house: 1:1 partnerships, collaboration, negotiations
Are your relationships supportive of your vision of success? Surround yourself with people who hold you accountable and who embody the qualities you value.
Sixth house: health, daily routines, habits
Are you taking your routine seriously? How you do one thing is how you do everything, make sure you’re honouring your integrity and staying true to your promises to yourself.
Fifth house: romance, passion, creativity
Are you honouring your passions as a priority? It can be difficult to make space for joy when the to-do list is never-ending. Give yourself grace as you continue to put your pleasure on the top of the list.
Fourth house: home, family, subconscious patterning
Are you living a life full of love? Your home life is being illuminated under the full moon. Be sure you’re giving your attention to those that are most important to you. The mountain isn’t worth climbing if there’s nobody to share the rewards with.
Third house: local community, curiosity, communication
Are you speaking with integrity? Your words hold power, and each one is a spell. Be sure you’re speaking from the heart. Be honest with those around you, and yourself.
Second house: self worth, values, material possessions
Are you aligned with your values? Your value isn’t dictated by how much you own or what you drive, it’s in the experiences you’ve gone through. Reflect on how much you’ve grown and the wisdom you’ve gained.
First house: self image, physical body, identity
Are you taking responsibility for yourself? Your independence and perseverance are highlighted under this full moon in your sign. There’s an opportunity to let go of anything keeping you from embodying your true self. Walk with pride.
Twelfth house: spiritual health, isolation, letting go
Are you putting your needs first? Taking your mental health and need for space seriously will only allow you to show up more fully with those you love. Don’t be afraid to take a time out if you need it.
Eleventh house: community, goals, humanity
Are you shying away from your purpose? The way you show up in your community is highlighted. You have much to offer the world with your compassionate heart. Lead with integrity and reflect on your next steps to be sure you’re walking the right path for you.
Tenth house: career, status, how others view you
Are you proud of your contribution to the world? If you’re not acting in integrity, it may feel as though you’re walking up a very steep hill to nowhere. Take some time to reflect on the legacy you’re leaving. Build towards something you’re truly proud of.
Ninth house: spirituality, world view, higher education
Are you solid in your beliefs? Conversations you’ve been having may be opening your eyes to another way. You don’t have to do things the way they’ve always been done, you get to choose what you believe in—say it with your chest.
Eighth house: transformation, intimacy, shared resources
Are you being honest with yourself? This full moon is illuminating where there’s imbalance in your give and take. Show yourself respect and draw (or loosen) any necessary boundaries.
