Are you being your whole self and nothing but yourself, so help you God?
On the full moon in Aquarius, joy, and connecting with the heart through moments of change.
Hi, I’m Kaitlyn 👋
I write about real life through the lens of astrology. My goal is to help as many people as possible learn to love themselves for who they are—dark parts and all. I believe the parts we were taught to hide are where our true gifts lie.
My focus is to inspire you to feel confident enough to shine without the fear, regardless of the expectations of others.
Tensions are high as the energy builds to the full moon in Aquarius. This week may be the moment the top pops off and you decide that space you’ve been trying so hard to fit into was never meant for you in the first place, because you were never meant to be stuffed in a box.
There was a time where I went along with what everyone else wanted for me, until I couldn’t anymore. I had the corporate job, went to university, tried to settle down, but I still felt empty.
Invite fresh energy by leaning into your heart
During this full moon in Aquarius, there may be tension between your head and your heart. Sometimes we let our mind rule the show (needed at times), and with Mercury retrograde in Leo, our mind may be running over all of the reasons we can’t, or won’t, or *insert lame excuse here*, but the key is leaning into what the heart wants.
Something inside may be asking you to level up, you know you can’t keep going on like you have been, and the only way through is to let go of control over what’s out of your hands. Be open to change. Be honest with yourself and trust when you lean into your authenticity and share your uniqueness with the world, you will be met with true connections and opportunities you may not have previously imagined.
Stop white knuckling your old life—I know it feels safe to be uncomfortable in a familiar situation, but imagine what could happen if you release your grip and stay open to new possibilities. Imagine what could happen if you truly valued yourself and what you desire.
“Come to a limit and transcend it; come to a limit and transcend it. Our only security is our ability to change.”
- John Lilly
When I quit my job, sold my things, and booked a one way ticket to Australia at the eclipses of 2016. I was terrified because everything was changing and unfamiliar, but when I leaned into trust and the dust finally settled, I found freedom.
There’s something about being in a new country, knowing absolutely nobody and nothing, without a plan, that releases the shackles of the need to be who you always were. But remember, even if you’re not throwing your old life away and moving to a new country, you can still be anyone you want to be, at any time, don’t let the expectations of those around you keep you boxed in.
The same thing happened when I dropped the mask of the bottle and had to learn how to be myself for the first time ever.
What masks are you wearing?
How can you slowly start dropping the mask and lean boldly into your truest expression?
Now at this pressure point between authenticity and expectations, I’m finding myself shedding old layers of who I thought I was and being open to what’s to come. I’ve built a new found confidence over the past year that is allowing me to stand strong in my being. I’m leaning into the discomfort of the unknown, as I stand on the edge of what feels like the old and the new.
Find compassion and curiosity
Back in May, I talked about the Jupiter and Saturn square that we’re now under, on the podcast. This cycle opened in December 2020.
The first quarter square is a point of tension in the bigger story, between our structures and joy, restriction and expansion, systems and the greater good. We’re at the point of the cycle where we may be questioning these things, especially on a more global scale. We’re at the point where we can no longer continue in the way we’ve done things—again, change.
There’s a lot of side taking, black and white, this or that—but the true wisdom lies in the ability to hold more than one truth. Mars and Jupiter meet and activate our ability to be curious, to ask questions. On the low road, we get angry and speak without listening, spewing our opinions as facts.
You may notice your values are changing, or coming into more clarity during this time. Just because we each have our own unique set of values, doesn’t mean the others are wrong.
just wrote a brilliant piece on hate and politics that I think is worth a read. It sums up a lot of what we’re moving through, and how we might possibly hold space for new information without being hateful. Can we hold compassion and love for “the other side” while still staying true to our own values?
Can I accept the possibility of multiple truths?
Can I respect other religions, beliefs, cultures, and communities even if my own ideals differ?
We’re all human, after all.
Now is a good time to check in on your own progress since:
December 2020 at the Jupiter/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius.
How have your beliefs shifted since then?
How can you stay grounded when new information comes to the surface?
Are you willing to open your mind to new possibilities and an evolution of truth?
February 2024 at the new moon in Aquarius.
What seed was being planted then?
How have you grown and changed since this new beginning?

The new moon in Aquarius was around the time I wrote about my relationship standards changing, and I’m proud I’ve since found freedom (as a result of bravery) in my heart by walking away from a relationship that was unfulfilling.
And a reminder that as we move through change, it’s important to stay connected to our heart, our body, and our joy.
Check out this thread where we talked about what we enjoyed doing as children, and committed to recultivating that joy now, as adults.
climbed some trees, leaned into colouring, played in the water and swam, tried contemporary, and I started dancing again. Reading the comments have been giving me joy, alone—so pop over to find some sparks for your own enjoyment!I’ll be honest, I’m still not sure what’s to come for me as I question my life, my business, and my existence on this planet—but what I do know is that by leaning into joy and releasing the pressure of needing it to be what I expect it to be, it feels a lot more enjoyable to live it one day at a time and leaning into pleasure.
Let go of what’s out of your control, lean into what makes you happy, and the rest will fall into place.

New moon in Aquarius is what I have to blame for all the shit that’s happened since February? Good to know. What date, exactly? Wondering if I can tie that to a specific event that was the first domino to fall in this craptacular year.
I am a moon child, born under sign for Cancer and on a Thursday no less so these posts line right up with me. Right now, this speaks clearly "at this pressure point between authenticity and expectations" and letting those blend one into the other for synchronicity. Why do I have trouble sleeping the night of a Full Moon? Some studies say that the mechanism is not fully understood, but it's believed the Moon's light levels and gravitational pull may impact the production of melatonin, the hormone that regulates sleep. Even small changes in ambient light from the Moon can disrupt melatonin secretion.
